Green Bay flight

I flew up to Green Bay, WI today. It was clear and really cold, but after a good preheat my engine fired right up, I visited the control tower while I was there (I was a controller there about 10 years ago) and took a picture of Lambeau and my Arrow on the ramp. There was a 50kt quartering wind which gave me a 100kt groundspeed on the way up, but 160 on the way back.

I wouldn’t pick an FBO because of the girls working the desk, but Executive Air had a really nice one (sorry, no picture). Very good service. I’m sure the pictures aren’t in order.

  • JimM, Nice photos! Great ground speed too!! I flew my Arrow to Green Bay twice over the years in order to attend the OSH event. I didn't want to brave the air traffic at KOSH or deal with Chicago Center leaving IFR. Parked beside Richard Collins' P210 one time (obviously before he scrapped it). BTW...Garmin has released (18 December 2019) version 6.4 for the G5 attitude indicator that now shows density altitude. Works slick!!
