New member - PA28R 180 Arrow

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself, perhaps make contact also with anyone local to me. I am in the U.K. and fly from headcorn (EGKH) and have owned a piper arrow 180 for nearly 2 years. I have been spending money on improvements engine wise, paint wise and avionics too. The aircraft is currently in for its final avionics upgrade.

I first added a new audio panel, a GTN 750xi and a gi275 as a CDI and MFD last year, I also bought a new garmin transponder but am only now just getting it added along with a guardian avionics co detector, 3 more GI 275’s (vacuum system removal) one will be an engine monitor and I have added the GFC500 autopilot also, I cannot wait to see her back after the upgrade.

some pictures included.

  • Cjbannocks,

Welcome and great looking bird. Just wondering...in Pic are you flying from the right seat just like the cars in the UK? :-))

  • Welcome!

You have a great looking plane!

I’m based at Sywell, EGBK, with a PA28R-200 Arrow II.

I’m very jealous of your panel, that’s pretty much exactly the setup I want in mine.

  • Very nice. You upgrades look great.

I just did similar to my Arrow, we took out 32 pounds of stuff, mostly wire, and put in 6 pounds of new toys. I still have trouble turning some of it on.

1973 Arrow II factory AC removed

    G5’S, G275, GNX375 Still can get lost.

  • Who did your panel? Jimmy Sharman did ours.. Very pleased with the results.. ! Piper Arrow out of Coventry.. We should organise a UK fly-In.. Or a Curry at Leicester on Thursday night!

  • Here’s the panel and some interesting interim pictures, I love it!

  • Yes definitely!!

  • Lol no.. left seat

  • You can see the paint is worn off the altimeter baro pressure setting - this is likely because it is adjusted from the field weather info to read zero on the ground in prep for landing. ;) I flew for a bit out of Enstone in a DA20. I recall adjusting the altimeter frequently between QNH and QFE.

Here is the simple guide to adjusting your altimeter in the UK!
