Curtains for PA32 260

I have a 73 PA 32-260 that i would like to install the retro Curtains, for closing it up when i go "camping" in it, during my travels. Does anyone have any pictures of Curtains installed in their Piper. I have a Bruce cover to cover the windshield and pilots side windows. but would like some suggestions for the side windows. on long trips I pull the rear seats and have a "Leveling Board" to cover the "pit" and it is fairly comfortable. Thanks, in advance.

  • Hi Nevill8415,

I see none of our members have the photos you are looking for as of yet. Perhaps you can search on the internet and check out "IMAGES" to see if you can find an example. I would also look for old Piper advertising that may show the curtains back in the day. Sometimes old advertising is listed on EBay! In the end, you may have to design your own.

    Happy camping!

    Regards,

    Mike

  • Hi Nevill,

    Sorry, just saw your post…

I have a 1981 Piper Seneca III with, I assume, the original curtains installed, I reckon we have the same “Cabin”…

I did remove them, when i first bought the airplane about 5 years ago, and had them professionally laundered and pressed.

i reinstalled them and, to be honest, really didn't see much difference.

So, they’re OK, and i guess i like them.

Attached are a few recent pictures of the Cabin.

    A few personal observations…

They do require frequent “adjusting” as they can come off the retention pole mounted to the window frame.

A friend has a Seneca also and he has removed his, it does make the windows look bigger and might be alittle easier to look out of.

i have had people close them inflight and go to sleep, so i guess it still might help there, as it would in your case…

The Piper IPC has listed PN’s, no idea if they might still be available, and what they might cost! $$$$

As Mr Mike mentions, they might be available on the Secondary Market.

Newer IV’s & V’s all have Pull Down Shades instead of curtains.

    Hope that helps!
