Copper Cables

Does anyone know the cable lengths for switching from aluminum cables to copper for a 1979 Dakota? I'm looking to switch them out and would like to have the copper cables made and on hand to minimize down time.

  • Go to Bogert aviation. They have complete kits really is the only way to go. STc'd legal and ready to install.

  • Bogert cables are nice. They were just put on my plane before I got it. Nice upgrade.

  • My '59 Comanche was really cranking slowly when I first bought it July 2025, to the extent that getting started was questionable. Coming out of annual this September, the problem came to a head so I bought the Bogert copper cable set/STC to correct the problem. The kit was complete all the way to the starter. Also replaced the Master contactor.

Now, even in cold weather, it cranks smartly and is easy to start. If you have Aluminum battery cables, don't even hesitate. Put the Bogert cables into your planning budget and get 'er done.
