Fuel Pump Pressure

I had a rebuilt mechanical fuel pump installed in my Turbo Arrow III (Continental TSIO 360-FB) a few weeks ago and I am trying to find the maximum pressure. At max MP of 41 inches the pressure is around 22-25 psi. My Dynon HDX is set to show red line at 20 psi.

Thanks for any help.

  • Todd if they put a new fuel pump on they should have used the manual m-0 and done a complete setup with the set of calibrated gauges.. Continental fuel pumps do not come from overhaul set up for your or any particular engine. They need to be adjusted. once they're installed. I don't have the dada in front of me but whoever put the pump on should have the data For the setup for your dynon limits

  • The unmetered fuel pressure, measured at the output of the pump, should be minimum 40/maximum 43 psi, at 2575 rpm and 41 map. Metered nozzle pressure is 15.8-18.3. 22-25 sounds pretty high.

  • The only fuel pressures used in doing a setup on a fuel pump on a continental engine is the unmetered pressure at a very low idle and the maximum fuel pressure metered at takeoff power. The numbers that are given for the pump output at full power are not to be used for doing any setting adjustment they are for reference only. Carl
