Power tow 40 ez engine

So it seems likely the camshaft gears in the power tow engine have failed.

Have not torn down the engine to verify.

Will likely disassemble and repair it but wondering what other options I should consider?? Convert to electric drive? Replacement engine options??

    I replaced my engine with a engine from Northern tool it was like 200 bucks maybe 5 years ago? You should be able to find a comparable motor online or locally. Carl
