Engine Corrosion

Taking a slightly different approach to an earlier question: What should be the initial steps to take checking for internal engine corrosion for a plane that has sat for over a year and a half. Remove each plug and bore scope, and then determine next steps? Or begin right away with removing a cylinder, or two or all? The plane has been hangered in mid-Mississippi, and I am not yet the owner (pre-buy pending).
I know the potential cost of not doing this, but what should I expect for cost to do a corrosion check? Will it be enough to just go ahead and have an annual done as part of this inspection?
Thank you for your inputs and advise.
