Hull insurance

How much is too much or not enough? I have just updated my panel with new avionics and did an appraisal on my aircraft ( Archer 2). appraisal came out quite high for this type of aircraft and market value but evidently not as high as the investment made. how can I find out the right amount of insurance pay back in case of a total loss so I don't find myself way out of pocket.
Thanks for the input.

  • I am in the same situation. I hear from many sources 50% of avionics for resale...we gain, but we lose

  • You insure how much it would cost you to replace the airplane as-is. We're not talking about selling it here, in which case you'll never get back what you put in. But you didn't spend all of that money to sell it, you spent it to use it and enjoy it. Therefore, insure what it costs to replace it. Good luck!
