N3933T crashed this morning in NE Ohio; pilot Troy Bankert was pronounced dead at the scene. His '67 Arrow's S/N is 16 units away from mine....My Arrow is N3943T..... Unreal.............He took off from the same airport where I base my Arrow. Cincinnati Municipal Airport, Lunken Field...... God have mercy on his soul.

Here is the flight, Elio. https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N3933T Do you have any idea what happened? I'm so sorry for your loss.

    Need help? Let me know!

  • Not yet, I am trying to get more information. I’m wondering how he got on flightaware without being instrument rated.
  • If he had ADS-B out, all his flights will show up on FlightAware, even when squawking a 1200 code.

  • Oh wow, I did not know that. Thanks for the info.

My plane has been down so long that it only shows the most recent two flights (if you are logged in), but both were flown with 1200 squawk codes. It’s handy in tracking my flights when I don’t talk to ATC.

  • I have privacy concerns about that. I have figured out a way to obfuscate my flights. This is too much risk of stalking....
  • I’m not popular enough to worry about that :). But, being an ATC, I know some tricks myself if the need arises!

  • Haha!! Respect! ;)
  • Jim, you’re not going to share your secrets? ;) I’m not that popular either so no worries about stalkers.

  • If you get flight following you pop up on flight aware as well, sorry for the loss. :(
