Civil Air Patrol

Anyone here have experience with the CAP, good or bad. I have thought about joining, but don't want to waste a lot of time on BS. I am already in the Army Reserve and own a Cherokee, so not looking for the military exp or cheap flying. Looking more at flying interesting missions, trips, and helping out with search and rescue and natural disasters, etc.

    I tried it for a while as well. A lot of non-prior service types that like to walk around in uniform. The good 'ole boys club is alive and well there. Older guys do all the flying while everyone else stands around and "trains". I think you'd probably get more satisfaction flying missions for Pilots N Paws.
