Aircraft ownership in South Carolina

My parents are getting up in years so I'm considering moving to SC to be close enough geographically to lend support when needed. Is there someone in the group that can shed light on the cost of ownership of an aircraft in SC? Will there be an immediate cost to the "long arm" in the form of sales and use tax, personal property tax, or some other form of taxation I haven't thought of? Thanks!

    I doubt it. They tried that in FL and it got blown away.

    They had a tax like that in GA when I was there in the mid 90's. Generally it was a 1% tax on the value of your higher priced possessions, campers, boats, planes, whatever. It seems more like a southern thing. Most every government body is spending more than they take in, they want more $$. If there is a way they will try. Most think you have to much anyway if you own a plane.
