FAA is trying to go crazy
Once again, the FAA is trying to go crazy. They have just proposed a new AD making Piper Service Bulletin 840 mandatory. After reviewing this, I'm convinced that the proposal is ridiculous! I think your members (and Piper owners everywhere) will agree.
If someone "inadverently" turns their fuel selector lever to OFF while in flight, should they really be flying? If they have binding of the selector valve, they should have already complied with Service Bulletin 355 to address that issue.
It is extremely important that THOUSANDS of Piper owners post comments before October 4th regarding this proposed AD.
Go to www.Regulations.gov then search for Docket number 2013-CE-012-AD or 2013-0742. VERY important if they want to try to circumvent being required to install an absurdly-priced Piper kit part number 760-545V or 760-546V at over $500 (it ought to cost less than $50)
