Solar Eclipse on August 21, 2017

I was at my homeplate today for the eclipse, Burlington Municipal Airport in Wisconsin (BUU).  There was a thin broken to overcast layer and the sun was visible most of the time.  I had my eclipse glasses and my shop provided welding glasses.  About noon CST the airport got very quiet.  Only the local C152 practicing landings was moving as everyone else stopped to borrow my glasses and look up at the sun.  We got about 85% coverage here and it got sunset-like for an hour or so.  Quite the spectacle.  What was your experience?
