Hello all, its my first winter with my PA28-151. Here in MI its pretty darn cold and I cant get my oil above 100 degrees. Do any of you use a winterization plate?
thanks

Hi and thanks for writing. I live in Milwaukee and have used oil cooler winterization plates for 50 years! I put them on when outside (ambient) temp dip around 40 degrees. If you don't have one, your mechanic can make one for about $50 out of sheet aluminum. Keep in mind that you may need two. Good luck!

PS. It's pretty damn cold in Wisconsin in January and February, too! You win the contest on snow, though.
