Weight and Balance information on a J2
Hi, Im a newby here'(as of today) and looking for some information on Weight and Balance for a J2 Cub
Just to clarify, this J2 is fitted out as if it is a standard J3 (C65 Continental) - however has still has the old push / pull throttle and trim cables showing on the inside of the fuse etc (not the fancy crank handle trim and quadrant throttle) -it does have a metal prop, not a wooden one, so a bit more forward weight as such
I am trying to work out what is the maximum rear seat pilot weight allowable, before there is an aft CofG problem - for the exercise, we'll assume there is no front seat Pax and nothing in the baggage compartment - there is no Wing Tank either, however, I believe it has the stand J3 fuel tank up front.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
Cheers
Matthew

Welcome.
Here are the type certificate data sheets for the cubs. I would refer to these and see which one governs your plane. Looking at the most restrictive fore/aft you would be at 11.8" and 20.4" for aft for weights up to 1000.
I found the type certificate data sheet for the J2 and J3:
