Is this AC the one that came out in 2009? I am a bit confused? Is there anything new or different to AC23-26? Cheers

  • Good question! I was made aware just last week and this is the only version that I've seen.

The AC 23-26 you mention is about navigation and not about parts substitution. Perhaps there is a typo?

This new approach by the EAA and FAA allows the use of approved off the shelf parts, presumably non-PMA parts, for aircraft applications not critical to flight safety. The FAA will certainly formalize the process in writing in the near future as it will, no doubt, be a point of discussion at Airventure this summer.
