Old STC for 160 to 180 HP engine
Hello,
Does anyone know how I can find paperwork related to a STC from 1991?
My friend's Piper received a STC in 1991 to replace the Lycoming 160 HP engine with a 180 HP engine. The STC is SA2946SO, which was issued to Walter Sykes with an approved Airplane Flight Manual supplement. We cannot, however, find a copy of the approved Flight Manual Supplement. I contacted the FAA/FSDO and searched the web but no luck.

Hi,
Maye try this place:
Looks like Charlie retired but I bet they have a decent chance of having a copy of the supplement.

Thank you Eric, I just reached out to the company.
Unfortunately Zephyr does not have a copy of the STC. Do you happen to have any other suggestions?
Short of finding another plane with the same stc, this can be a impossible task, especially if unable to locate the stc holder or they passed away.
I am constantly amazed at the the FAA does NOT have in a database. They must have original copies of that stuff somewhere. Carl
