Thanks for posting! As usual, the devil is in the details. It always depends on how the engine is being flown, how often it is flown, etc., before engine work is required.

At Osh a Cont. rep clams this is Lycoming's response to the IO-370 drop in replacement for the Lycoming 360 in 172's. The IO-370 is priced at around 50k but a 2400 tbo for high utilization trainers.
I think the Cont. numbers were looking compelling for training centers and Lycoming does not want to lose them as it is losing both current and all future business.
