Archer III with odd serial number
We have a 2000 Archer III with an odd 7 digit serial number, 284XXXX. This is an issue because the parts manuals always reference 9 digit serial numbers, like "28-7690002 and up."
Do any of you know how our serial number fits with what's in the parts manual?

Happy to help. Our shop supports a 1999 Archer III, and went through some of the same issues when it first came in. I've never seen the "why" for switchin S/N formats, the old way was convenient to know the vintage of the plane.
