I recently purchased a 1965 Cherokee 140 for training. Can anyone recommend a computerized weight and balance calculator as I train that also will allow me to keep track of historical trends i.e. fuel burn/hours?
You can set up a wt&bal form in MS Excel, or some other spreadsheet.
To compare planned vs. actual fuel used, I'm pretty happy with fltplan.com. You can put your perf data in for the way you fly your plane and then track actuals. The site has a wealth of neat features.
I found an old wt/bal Excel file for a PA28 181 that you may edit a little. Not sure if it can be uploaded here. I can try to email you the small file.
I found an awesome app for the iPhone that makes weight and balance a snap and you can quickly set it up with the data for your airplane. It's WnB Pro by Angell Development. It's great for what-ifs and to figure out how much fuel you can cary for a given load, etc. Check it out! http://www.wnbpro.com/
