Yet another and final alphabeam update
After exploring my options and talking to an engineer at Teledyne, that's his cherokee 180 in the ad photos I decided to abandon the project. It was suggested I get longer screws for the light retainer and cinch it down leaving about a 3/8" gap between the light retainer and the air fliter housing. And what's really funny is I did this just for laughs, and it worked. The Whelen light would work except the little "note 4" on the STC which does not allow for installation in the air filter retainer which knocks out my "71" 140. So, all that said a Q4509 will soldier on and hopefully some day somebody will have a solution. Thanks to all for your input.
