Aftermarket Shoulder Harnesses for PA-28
I have a 1968 PA28-180 D that only has the factory installed lap belts. I'd like to replace them with a system that has shoulder harnesses. The two options appear to be either the traditional "over-the-shoulder" inertia reel, or a 4-point system that anchors in the ceiling above and behind the seat. The inertia reel type appears to be easier to use, but the 4-point system appears to hold you more securely in the seat. The four-point system also looks like it may be a little more difficult for passengers to use. I would appreciate hearing from anyone that's made this conversion, as well as any general opinions on this upgrade or vendor recommendations. Thanks!!
