Odering airframe parts, beware
Just want people aware of what we just experienced purchasing a few new airframe parts for our Piper Cherokee. Using the Serial #, we purchased a couple of 2 lb stabilizor skins from Western Aircraft Inc. Nice lady took the order and also told us that they might charge for 2 different cratings and if so she would credit one. Well the parts came, looked right, but were wrong and had to be reordered. They arrived in cardboard boxes that they charged $74 for "Crating" each, both could have easily fit in one box as she said. (now she denys this) The repair shop reordered the correct parts, again charging "Crating" this time $82 each and said they would send an "RMA". No explanation as to why the almost identical parts were over $100 more or why extra $$ for the "Crating" (cardboard UPS size box)
Here is the best part, we still have no credit, will get no refund on the wrong shipping charge or the RMA return shipping and they want a "Restocking charge" for teh parts they sent wrong. Nice thing is, we used a CC for the order, I hope they hold their breath for this payment.
