Wing door entry assist

I have a 1989 Warrior II. My parents are aging and have creaky knees and shoulders. Is anyone aware of a device made to help people enter and exit Piper wing doors? My Dad has to do the scoot/slide down the wing to get out. He loves to fly with me, but we can't go together as often as we'd like becuase it is so painful for him.

If one isn't made, I'm thinking of designing something lightweight to help. Would anyone else be interested in such a device if it were light and collapsable to fit in the back of the plane?

Thanks for your help.

  • I have found that folks with arthritis or other things that make mobility a challenge can easily get into the back seat. Fronts are tough, but one can just step into the back seat.
