Vertical Seat Adust - Do I Have It?

Hi all. I just bought my 1979 Archer II and flew it home (klvj) from Memphis. I have read that the seats will adjust vertically. I cannot see how to do this. Is this feature available on all Archers or was it an option? I'm thinking I don't have the option. Can it be added?

    Look under the seat towards the right side. If there is a thing there that looks like a screen door closer cylinder but smaller... you have it. Some have a big spring on a cylinder too. Either way, on the front of that cylinder is a button...
