Piper Arrow IV - External Power Source and Battery Tender
I have a Piper Arrow IV. PA28 R/T
Every winter I remove the cowling and the battery box cover to install a trickle charger to keep my battery from dying over the winter. Can I attach the positive allegator clamp onto the external power plug outside my aircraft (male plug) and attach the negative clamp to a ground to keep my battery charged during the winter time?
Will this work or will removing the cowling and battery box cover continue to be a minor inconvenience?
Thanks in advance,
FreeFalGuy

Nope! Won't work. Your best bet is to have you A&P install a pigtail to the battery at your next annual. Then just plug your batteryminder into the pigtail.
