mini_10012013-1533_721PJ--1-crack2.jpgcan anyone give me the part numbers for the 3 stiffeners that are between the longerons aft of the battery box on my PA28R-180
are these structural parts and should the plane be grounded for the cracks. they are just aft of the battery box under the control cables

  • They are structural parts (however minimal) thin and prone to cracking, especially if you have an antenna mounted in the vacinity. As the lower skin vibrates and flexes during normal operation, these parts crack on a regular basis. My Arrow has the same cracked stiffners and are next on my "to do" list.
Based on what I see on my airplane, I would guess they were missed last annual and have been flying that way for a while.
I haven't found a part number, but any decent sheet metal man can fabricate easy enough. 2024 T3 same thickness as the original.
    Hope that helps.
