BEST LOCATION TO MOUNT FIRE EXTINGUISHER IN PA32
I own a 1978 Pa32-300. Over the last 6 monthes we just installed a new airtek interior. I purchased a new fire extinguisher. It has 2.5 lbs of gas. I would estimate that it weighs 5 lbs. My mechanic is reluctant to install the extinguisher under the Pilot or Co Pilot seat. He believes that the seats are designed for frontal impact and is concerned with installing this big and heavy extinguisher there. He wants to install it behind the Co Pilot seat in a tray or basket. In fairness to him, maybe I got his reasons wrong. Has anyone installed a larger fire extinguisher in a 1978 Pa32-300, and if so where. Thanks. Chuck
