New Aviation Club Announcement - Dayton Ohio

Here's a bit of info on a new flying club formed in the Dayton Ohio area:

Thanks to everyone for coming last night. It looks like its a go. I had hoped there were others out there wanting to spend a little time each month talking about their passion for aviation and there are.

We will have monthly meetings the first Thursday of each month 6.30-8.00p.

The first meeting will be 2/7 @ KMGY (Wright Brothers) at the ASI terminal building.

Here's a short summary of the exploratory meeting last night if you couldn't make it:

"We got 13 people there and several more interested. The format will be simple, just bring a question, a topic, a trip, a new technology or anything of interest to share with the group. We'll go around and discuss each person's item. We also are thinking we'll plan some flying trips, visits to control towers, visit some museums, bring in some speakers, explore some charitable efforts and some efforts to promote GA. We also discussed a mentor program where experienced pilots would team up with a student pilot and meet monthly to discuss progress as well as be available anytime for questions/concerns during training. For now its going to be informal so no fees or dues."
