Stabilator trim indicator-needs to be replaced

I just got my PA28 back from having some work done on it and when they re-rigged the trim something happened to the indicator needle. I have looked and have moved the wheel from stop to stop and it does not move. I took the plastic cover off because it appeared to be wedged on it but apparently it is broken. I have looked at Chapter 5 in my service manual and it does not give instructions if I just want to replace this spring steel thingy.
Anyone have instructions on what I need to do to replace this?

  • If you recently had work done at a shop, that could effect this trim problem, my 1st stop or talk would be with them. The only reason I wouldn't talk to them is if I lost faith in their work. Call them up right away & see what they say. Not to be a problem customer, but if I have work done I always give it a careful test afterwards, & go back if I see issues.
  • Great idea. This airplane was just completely redone 700+ miles from home. Might be a little far for a trim indicator.
