Are you ready for ADS-B? Will you need it to operate in airspace near you? Need help sorting through the many options and features that are available on ADS-B equipment? Not sure how to apply for the FAA ADS-B rebate program?
The FAA’s Equip 2020 Team can help. This joint government/industry group — designed to encourage and help aircraft owners equip with ADS-B Out before the January 1, 2020 deadline — is hosting a live Twitter #ADSBchat to directly answer and address your general aviation questions and concerns.
The FAA #ADSBchat will take place on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. ET (1400-1500 EDT). In addition to several FAA experts, representatives from the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Experimental Aircraft Association, and Aircraft Electronics Association will also help co-host the live question and answer session. Please make sure to include #ADSBchat in ALL of your tweets.
To view and/or participate in the Twitter chat, simply go to www.twitter.com/hashtag/ADSBChat and watch all of the latest tweets appear. Keep in mind that you will need to have a Twitter account to post questions during the event. Just click the Sign Up button on Twitter to create an account.

In addition to the July Twitter chat, the Equip 2020 team will be out in full force during EAA’s AirVenture 2017, which runs July 24-30. The team will staff a booth from 0830-1700 CT each day at the FAA Safety Center to answer any ADS-B related questions, help you make rebate reservations on site, and check the performance of your ADS-B Out equipment if you already have it installed. Several panels at AirVenture will also discuss ADS-B Out equipage, including one at the FAA Safety Center on Wednesday, July 26, from 1130 to 1245 CT.
Be sure to follow FAA on Twitter (@FAANews and @FAASafetyBrief) or on Facebook (www.facebook.com/FAA) for updates on our ADS-B coverage at AirVenture. We’ll be posting photos, videos, Instagram stories and pilot feedback throughout the week.
For complete information on ADS-B, be sure to visit FAA’s Equip 2020 website at www.faa.gov/nextgen/equipadsb. If you have questions or concerns about ADS-B, please contact adsb@faa.gov. There is also a separate email address available for any rebate-specific questions you may have at ADSBRebateHelp@faa.gov.
