I just bought a ‘72 Arrow II. It has the 200hp engine and the extended cabin and Hershey wing. I’m very happy with my decision and don’t have any regrets vs buying a tapered-wing model. I think engine time and avionics are a bigger factor in that regard.
More people like standard-tail Arrows but I owned a T-tail Seminole for a long time and it really didn't matter. The standard tail is an Arrow 3 and the T Tail is an Arrow 4. The Arrow 4 is from the 1980's and costs more but has newer avionics, although it's still 35 years old. I have a '77 Turbo Arrow 3 with a new panel and 3,000 hours. I'll only have turbo charged airplanes. It doesn't cost much more and it's much higher speed, climb rate and ceiling. So, and this is a personal recommendation, but a turbo 3 or 4 is what I recommend. I'm sure other members will make different recommendations.
