Detailed Airframe inspection

Hi - my piper Seneca II has had 2 prop strikes In the same engine within the past 18 months. That means 2 hard landings but it also makes us think maybe the first strike caused airframe damage that contributed to the second strike.

Anyone have experience with shops that specialize in piper airframe inspections? Our mechanic did a piper specifies hard landing inspection. But I’m wondering if there is a more detailed or comprehensive inspection that a specialist might do with special equipment and knowledge.

  • Hi, I've owned 3 Senecas over the last thirty years. Two II's and one III. During the last five or six years I've had a shop in Wisconsin do an excellent job for me on all things related to my various Senecas. In fact, they did such a good job that I recommended their IA to be our association A&P; that's Erich Rempert. You can contact him or his boss Jake Remington via their website. They do good work, they know Seneca II's very well, the price is generally okay and of course, you guessed it, they're are slow this year because of ADS-B. Here's there web link. http://www.burlingtonaircenter.com/
