Gauge Cluster Lens Condensation

On cooler days (<60F), I notice condensation forms on the inside of my gauge cluster lens, right behind the fuel pressure indicator. The airplane is a 1969 Cherokee 140/160. Does this happen to anyone else? I am not quite sure what would be getting warm behind it. I know there is an oil line for the oil pressure sensor, but I have not found any leaks.

  • Take the cover off and let it dry out for a few days. While the cover is off, look around for leaks and corrosion.

  • How do you get the cover off? I am always afraid the plastic will crack.

  • Hi, it presses up from the top or bottom. It's flexible. However, if it should break due to old age, it is replaceable. Not to worry.
