Update on eddy current price

edited February 2021 in General Discussion
All;
I just received the bill for my wing spar eddy current test. Owners on other forums were reporting that their eddy current tests were in the $3k range, and that's what I was expecting. Some people here were posting their eddy current cost at roughly $1k. Much to my surprise, the cost for the test and labor on my plane came in right around $1k as well.

My plane passed the test, and the price above covered the test and the shop's time. If your spar does not pass, I've been told you're probably looking at $12k to $13k.

If anyone has been through the cost for a replacement wing or spar, please post the price.

    Just had mine done yesterday. It passed. $600 for the inspection, couple hours A&P time to remove old and install new bolts. We have an NDT tech close by so no travel cost.
    I made a video of the tech actually doing the inspection if you're interested. https://youtu.be/EFF054G-pFo

  • Thanks very much and congrats on the good news!
