Replacement instrument panels

Would like to update the "68 140 to the standard six-pack arrangement. Does anyone offer pre-made panels, or is it necessary to do a new fabrication?

  • Did this to my 1966 Cherokee 180 years ago. The A&P / IA fabricated his own adapter plate that fits over a portion of the existing panel. Fit perfectly. Cannot easily change the plastic overlay so the AH hole in the plastic is larger on the 1966 Cherokee. The underlying aluminum is painted flat black and looks OK to me.

  • Hi Mike,
So you updated your 1966 Cherokee
180 years ago? Wow, I knew you were old, but not that old! :) Sorry!

  • I modified my (2) Twin Comanche panels, back in the day, but thought some after-market outfit would have an easier solution. I have no problem fabricating my own, but, at my age, I tend to look for simpler (less work) solutions. And, getting rid of the plastic overlay and having a nice, modern, sheet of painted metal in front of me sounds pretty good.
