How do you Remove Inside Door Handle?

I am replacing the side panels in my 1974 Arrow and everything is self explanatory except the panel on the door. I have to remove the door handle to remove the panel and it is not obvious on how to remove it. Any suggestions?

  • I think your '74 is probably different than my '77 Arrow. Can you post a picture?

It may have the Jesus Clip behind the panel.

  • There is a Black plastic insert in the handle that has a slit to insert a Flat Head Screw Driver and lightly pry it out, then there is 1 Phillips Screw that holds it in. Less than 1 minute operation.

The Platic Trim Piece around the door handle broke when pulled it off. Be Very Careful.

  • Now I have to find this piece on Ebay, etc...

  • That piece is a Volkswagen part.

  • Found 2 options on Ebay. The Chrome one is just like the one on my plane.

  • The one for $31.95 is actually metal and not plastic like your original.

  • Great work, Gents! :)

I actually bought both the Chrome Metal and the Black Plastic Handles. I used the Chrime Metal one. It did not come with the black plastic insert trim piece, so used my old one.
