PA28 Fuel cap
The fuel cap on my Cherokee has a plastic ring on the inside that seems to push down on the rubber gasket. Mine has a cut across it and should be replaced. Don't know what it's called or where to get it. It's not in the parts book. I am considering making my own. Thoughts?

I own and fly a 79 PA32RT-300T. Previous aircraft are a 79 Archer and 76 Arrow.
This is not the rubber seal/gasket that seats against the filler neck. This is a plastic ring that ends up pushing against the rubber seal when you twist/tighten the cap. My plane is in a annual over an hour away so no photos right now.
I have a PA-32-260, but I think we share a lot of parts. This part number was hand written in a parts catalog I have by the previous owner. Is this what you’re looking for?
Also listed was part number 66814-002. That’s suppose to be the same part with 2” OD instead of 3” OD of the part pictured.
I'll check it out... Thanks a bunch!
