Vertically Adjustable Seats
Hi All, I am considering swapping my pilot seat which does not adjust vertically for one that does. We have one pilot that is 6’3” and has to lean the seat back to keep his head from touching the headliner. I’m trying to find out if the vertically adjustable seats drop any lower than the non adjustable ones. I assume they will adjust higher which will be beneficial for my wife and daughters. My plane is a 1976 PA32-260. The part number for the seat is 79592-02 which is the same for several other types of Pipers.

My last Seneca II was a 1977 and both front seats were vertically adjustable. I would look for a Seneca seat! (Same airframe).

Only the pilot side on my T Lance drops.
I own and fly a 79 PA32RT-300T. Previous aircraft are a 79 Archer and 76 Arrow.
I have one on both right & left seats on my T Lance II, but both don't work...bummer...
Hey Roe, why not fix them? Easy-Peasy!

I’m trying to determine if it’s worth the cost of a salvage yard seat, they’re $$$. It obviously goes higher than my current fixed seat, but does it go lower than my current fixed seat? If it does not, it won’t help my 6’3” pilot.
I'm 6'1" and had no problem with the Seneca seats.

Scott, my seat is at an okay height...fixing is on the list but have currently more pressing issues ...cylinder rebuild...rib repair...& a flush rivet leaking on a fuel tank...
Roger that, Roe. :)
