Tail Anticollision Light Replacement
I am looking at replacing the current anticollision light on my 1966 Cherokee 180. The current beacon is an older strobe (non-LED) with associated power pack.
Appears two good candidates are the Whelan Orion and the Aeroleds Sunbeacon II.
Looking to hear of any experience with either model. Ease of installation, lessons learned, regrets? Also - any other manufacturer/model I should consider?

My AI permitted me to install the Whelan Orion myself. It was a very easy installation and I used existed wiring for the tail beacon and existing circuit breakers. I used a Molex connector for the fin and some knife connectors in the tail section. You do have to bypass the strobe power supply and the light is polarity sensitive. It used the existing holes from the beacon to mount. I also removed the strobe power supply and my IA revised the weight and balance accordingly.
Here are some photos.
