Airplane help id
In 1963 or so, my grandfather owned a plane. We called it the green monster. It was a dark green canvas covered tail dragger. I have looked for pictures to try to identify it, but unable. I seem to recollect that it was a Stinson but not sure. It looks like Stinson went out of business in 50s. Any help with clues the identify the airplane would be most appreciated. I know it was not a Cessna

Does the memory match any of these?

There is a listing of models in the Aircraft section. Hover the mouse over the model name and a photo will appear, although, not all models have an associating photo.
If not a Stinson, perhaps a Stearman?

Any chance of finding an old letter, article or logbook that had the N number? would be easy to search and it may still be flying. Perhaps a local flying club or ? the odds are decent there are pictures out there somewhere.
