Wing to Fuselage seal on belly

I need to replace the seal on the belly that is attached to the inspection cover where the wings and fuselage meet? Is this the same seal that is used on the upper part of the wing? Can you buy the inspection plate with the seal already attached? Do I have to glue it on? Anybody fix this area and have tips for me? Source on where to get it? Glue?

  • Hi N56404,

The lower seal you are speaking of is glued to the panel with weatherstrip cement such as the link to this one:

If you have the piece of lower seal, you can just glue it back in place. Had to do mine last year.

If you lost the seal and need a replacement, you could try Knots 2U. They sell the ENTIRE seal for the wing top and bottom but it is a lot of work to replace all of it. If you just need the foot or so for the panel, they could possibly sell it by the foot. I would give them a call. Here is a link to their website for the entire seal:

    Regards,

  • Thanks. Only need to do the inspection panel. I will try and source a few feet. If anyone has any left over, please let me know.

    N56404:

My Warrior is in the paint shop, and I am replacing the entire seal. If there's enough left over, I'll let you know. Or, if you're interested in a used 46-year old piece.....

Either may be available by the end of the month.
