Pre-Buy A&P

I came upon what seems to be a good deal for a 1968 PA-32 6/260. The aircraft is located at KDTS (Destin Executive) and i am having a hard time finding an A&P that has been vetted for their knowledge and capabilities with Pipers. While the cost of the aircraft is attractive it did just have the wing spars and front seat tracks replaced due to corrosion. So this is a known issue. Does anyone know of an A&P in the area or one that would travel that could and would dig deep into this aircraft, so I have the best idea of what I am walking into if I buy this aircraft?

I know this plane has issues and might be a project just need to know how big of a project it might be.

Last annual was 2020, been sitting since. Engine installed Apr2006 and has 769 hours.

    There's a reason it is a good deal. It would be a better deal if the owner just gave it to you at this point. Seriously? Walk away from this one and keep looking.

    Hi FlyLowe,

    I'm a little confused by your post. Were the wings removed and shipped to a specialized rebuilder, like Airframe Components, and then reinstalled by a professional who adjusted and balanced the control surfaces correctly and filled out all the right paperwork? Or was this a field repair done by an amateur? The former might be a great plane, because it's a sign the owner cared about maintenance. If it's the latter, then I'm with Carl....RUN.

    Thank you for the responses!! I will reach out to Neal.

    And the Seat Track and Spar corrosion was found when the current owner took the aircraft to an A&P at KDTS after SB 1304 was posted. I will most likely walk from the deal but i will be honest i'm hopeful its salvageable.
