It looks like the wife's family reunion will be near Wild Rose, WI next summer. It looks like Wild Rose has a decent length grass strip, but does anyone know how good of a condition it normally is?
The comment regarding deer on the field is very legitimate. Pay close attention at dawn or dusk. A low initial pass is prudent and usually sends them scurrying for cover (for a few minutes anyway).
No fuel available, but Waupaca Airport (KPCZ) is just a hop away. The FBO there is Riverside Aviation and Russ Bargo's guys can top you off.

It's well maintained and is a hopping little place during their annual pancake breakfast in June. It's also known as Idlewild Airfield.
