the next one hundred (100) hours time in service.

APPROVAL: The technical content of this Service Bulletin has been shown to comply with the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and is FAA approved.

PURPOSE: It has been discovered that cracks may exist in a limited number of Nose Landing Gear Strut Assemblies, due to an error in the forging process, which has been isolated to a specific batch of forgings. The affected batch of Nose Landing Gear Strut Assemblies were supplied as original equipment on the aircraft listed, as well as supplied recently to the field as service replacement parts.

The existence of a crack in the area identified in Figure 1 will result in a reduction in service life of the Nose Landing Gear Strut Assembly.

This Service Bulletin provides for the mandatory inspection (and if necessary, replacement) of the Nose Landing Gear Strut Assembly.
