Be Careful at Grand Canyon Airport
Thought it would be an scenic fuel stop. It is a towered airport, w/o radar. Per Tower instructions I was on very short approach, when Tower cleared for takeoff the plane that was holding short. Luckily both I and the other pilot were more aware than the tower was. A good lesson, I suppose.
There are lot's of tourist flights operating from this airport, and they were using the runway in both directions. A confusing situation, apparently.
Next time I will stop at Page.
