Knots2U- Sales or discounts?

Does K2U ever do sales or discounts? I figured I’d give in and go Black Friday shopping but they don’t seem to participate in sales. I searched for past sales and nada. Their Facebook is also very limited with nary a suggestion about a sale.

I own and fly a 79 PA32RT-300T. Previous aircraft are a 79 Archer and 76 Arrow.

  • Hi Jeff,
I'm getting ready to make a purchase so your timing is very good. Let me know what you want as K2U is right by my house. Also, I'm planning on a few articles on their products very soon. As for their discounts, they are so busy that they don't give any that I've ever seen. However, If I'm buying for 2, I might be able to get one. Send me your inventory when you have a chance.

I’m kicking the tires on the PA32RT-300T wing tips. Halogen lights, split switch, 14v. I’ve already got PAR36 leds to use, hence the tungsten light option. Should be the RMD-4000 kit.

The basic 14v kit with the split switch so I can cut off the tips on taxi but leave the nose light on. If there is any discounts, I’m all ears. If not, no worries.

  • Hi! I met with John Bailey of K2U on Monday. He said he would think about it and get back to me tomorrow. Fingers crossed. He said it's come up before and he never addressed it but he would this time. Stay tuned. :)

  • I went back to Knots2U today. John Bailey has declined to give any discounts, unfortunately. He did say that group buys were okay if you want to organize something. I was disappointed, but nothing I can do.

  • Should we still do a group buy?

  • They will gladly give us a group rate. We have to do the organizing of the group, though. I have a big order going in after the first of the year for my arrow.

  • Did he discuss what the group rate would be? I’m easily kicked off the fence when I can save money. When there is no incentive, I hum and has a long time.

  • If it is easy does not cause a headache for anyone I am in for the speed stuff wing flap and aileron seals. Also the wing fuselage fairing. On the fence on the gear fairings, do they work?

  • Gear lobe fairing?

I have them and I probably would not do it again honestly.

  • I’m in for the tips and some nick nacks if John is offering us a “group buy” pricing. I can also cross post it to other forums and drum up a few more buyers I suppose. But, I’ll need to know what kind of pricing we are getting to make people salivate enough to jump on board.

  • Scott- can you ask John what the group buy terms would be?

    I own and fly a 79 PA32RT-300T. Previous aircraft are a 79 Archer and 76 Arrow.

  • Hi and I did. Fiberglass items are built in house and have a higher profit margin. Items resold from other vendors have a low profit market, around 12 percent. I would expect a higher discount on fiberglass items and maybe none on resold OEM items. He didn't elaborate beyond that.

  • That sounds rather enticing. I’ve never been involved in a group buy. How do we set it up, manage it, etc? I’m all ears!

I will be a buyer of quite a bit, probably over $3000 and up to $5,000. I am just finalising esp the cabin windows, It marries up with this refurb I am doing.

  • Ok, I'm planning a similar purchase.

I just need to confirm a couple of things and maybe add a couple. Is the main gear kit at $372 for both or one. Is the screw kit for the chieftain or Navajo. I may add some windows for crew LHS and RHS. I am also trying to confirm NZ CAA requirments for shading. CASA does not alllow grey in the front at all. Also what is the difference between kit 21 and 22 , they both say they are for the main PA31
