Carpet Replacement
I’m replacing the carpets in my Comanche and wanted to know if they should be adhered to the floorboards with adhesive or secured in some other way. Velcro? Do the carpets need to be removed during annual?

You always need a way to remove the carpets. Glue the carpeting to rubber insulation sheets, then velcro the rubber sheets to the floor. Your plane will be cooler in the summer, warmer in the winter, quieter, and you'll be able to inspect under them when you need to. The rubber insulation sheets are available from Airtex Interiors

It looks like mine were glued directly to the floor.
That's very common and the way I did it, incorrectly, for decades. But don't worry! Just look carefully for damage and corrosion as best you can every year. If you ever replace the carpeting you can do it correctly. :)

I just pulled all my carpet and was wondering the same thing. Turns out there are no inspection panels under the carpet except for 2 I found under the cargo carpet. I guess that is why they did it that way at the factory.
