Hi Scott welcome to the forum. Looks like another nice cruiser. It's almost comical it looks like all the very early 140s are coming out of the woodwork. I didn't think you were that many still for sale. Look forward to seeing more Carl

Beautiful 140! Tell us more! Don't be a stranger. Where are you based? What type of flying do you do? How is it equipped? Any plans for upgrades or just enjoying the view out the window?
Regards,
Mike

Based out of Marion , Iowa. Currently in training, plan on updating the flight deck when funds and schedule allow. Flys real nice ,very responsive compared to the Cessna i started in. Low airframe hours .
Thanks for the update Scott! Enjoy the training, and don't be in a hurry to make major changes. Those dollars go a long way toward fuel and long cross country adventures. Even after spending large sums on panel upgrades, the view out the window never changes 😉

You want a comm or nav/com? What else do you have in the panel? Garmin makes a fine radio, if you have a KX155 thats on the outs, a KX200 is a slide in replacement. If comm only a Trig TY96A is a cost effective option. If not tied to glass a TY56A nav/comm is a solid choice, too.
On another note anyone just have the hand brake ? It's cold in Iowa and when pulling back on the brake it requires alot of force . Then all of the sudden you can feel the brake starting to grab.A/P says it is due to cold weather.
Hi Scott ask your a&p to do a complete system flush and get the old fluid out of there and see if that makes a difference anybody who's been doing this for a long time has seen 5606 turn almost into a jelly when it's really really old. You might need some o-rings in it too but a fluid flush may help you in our cold weather up here in the Midwest. Carl

I had issues with my Comm radio about a month after I bought my plane last July.
Bleed though and tuning issues.
I swapped the old TKM for a Garmin 205.
I can't say enough about the radio. I love it.
The monitor feature for the preselect freq is great, the timer feature is great for swapping fuel tanks.
The sound quality is beautiful. And it will stay in the panel if/when I upgrade it.
It was pricy, around $4500 installed, but worth it.
Thanks for the recomendations , Going in the Avionics shop this week to install the Garmin 215 . Pricey little thing . GNC 215 i think.
