Aviator sunglasses with built-in reading lenses
Three new aviator-style sunglasses will help pilots who need “cheaters” to read in the cockpit. These sunglasses are both stylish and functional and feature integrated reading lenses.
“As our eyes age, we need a bit of help in reading our iPads, charts and other notes,” says Sporty’s Vice President John Zimmerman. “These sunglasses will prevent constant changing from sunglasses to reading glasses during flight.”
All three styles feature a stainless steel frame with thin, flexible temples and an adjustable nose bridge. These sunglasses provide maximum comfort for prolonged use in the cockpit. Weighing in at a mere 1 oz., it’s easy to forget you have them on. The non-polarized nylon lenses are more resistant to scratches, offer higher definition and outstanding optical clarity at a lighter weight. A small portion at the bottom of the lenses is magnified to help with reading. The remainder of the lens is unmagnified. Lenses are available in +1.5, +2.0, or +2.5 spot diopters.
These sunglasses offer 100% UVA, UVB and UVC protection with an Optimized Magnification Zone (OMZ) to reduce distortion and fatigue. A retro-style protective case is included with the purchase of each pair of sunglasses.
The three styles include the AV1 [1616A], the NV2 [2026A], and the AV2 [1944A]. Each is available for $99.95 and may be ordered at 1-800-SPORTYS or at www.sportys.com.
